TOPOGRAPHY OF LIGHT II
2009
Luan/Wood/Mirrored Plexiglass
132in x 156in x 84in
The presence of mirror in this c-shaped installation utilizes the viewers’ specular image; enabling them to literally see themselves and their surroundings throughout the work while experiencing the interplay between reflection and movement of light and shadow. The contrast between “concrete” white planes and the false depth projected in mirrored planes’ surfaces calls into question spatiality and “realness” as the boundaries between the installation and its environment become blurred.
